TerrainScouter provides mapping and weather tools for people working or travelling in remote country, including a text-message (SMS) weather service. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, or any information you do not send us. Location is only ever obtained from your device with your permission, or from coordinates you type yourself.
Your number and coordinates are used for one purpose: to answer the request you sent and return a weather forecast. We do not use them to build a profile or to advertise to you.
Our SMS service is entirely user-initiated: we reply only when you text us. We do not send marketing texts. Text STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply.
Message logs are retained only as long as needed to operate and support the service, then deleted. You can ask us to delete your data at any time using the contact address below.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect specifically so there is little to expose.
The service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
